Keeping things on the right track

We recently had an enquiry from a client that required a section of railtrack surveying which was believed to be misaligned. The purpose of the survey was to create a digital model of its existing position and level, which would then be used by an engineer to work out the best way to realign the rail. Measurements were taken frequently along the rail to increase accuracy of the model. Extra detail was collected around the adjoining sections and turnouts as these are the points where the rail can be re-positioned.
